Steve Harvey gets trolled by 'Family Feud' game board answer

For your consideration…

Today’s message is light-hearted but I am not sure how to explain it. I am going to start with the examples I was given. The first one it of Steve Harvey on Family Feud. Sometimes contestants offer up an answer that just seems so bizarre that it couldn’t possibly be right. Steve Harvey is funny when he gives them this look that says so. He is even funnier if the answer is up on the board. The second example I was given of my daughter, Alex, as a little girl. When I would come home from work and see the outfit she had on, I would be mortified. I would ask my husband, Bruce, “You didn’t take her anywhere in this did you?” He would answer the dreaded, “Yes, to the store, etc. Hey, that is what she picked out.”

So the difference between my husband’s and my thinking is the core of today’s message. Sometimes in the spirit of helping we like to direct the show but that isn’t always helping. Sometimes people want to do it themselves. They want to learn on their own. Sometimes they just see things differently and want to act accordingly.Maybe they are right or maybe they are wrong but it doesn’t matter.

It isn’t always easy to step back especially if we are convinced we are right and that they are making a big mistake. But stepping back we must. We need to change our attitude to one of celebrating others desire to learn and grow on their terms and in their own way and time.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Support versus direct.

What made me smile yesterday…

-I got Conner and Alex off to the airport.

-A trip to one of my favorite vegetable stands.

-Catching up with Vickie.

-Jodie arrived. We went out with Will and Shannon on their boat to Zukey Lake Tavern. The weather was crazy all day. I literally changed my clothes 4 times. But by the time we got on the boat, the weather was absolutely perfect.

-A magnificent thunder storm during the night. Who needs those noise machines. Mother Nature is perfect.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
