Lisa Nichols - When you are feeling unsettled, you are forgetting what you know to be so. | Facebook

For your consideration…

Today’s message is about “feeling unsteady.”

When babies and toddlers are learning to walk, climb, navigate, etc., we give them tools. We show them how to turn around to go down stairs then later to hold on to the railing. We give them toys to walk behind until they are able to learn balance and walking. It is the same thing at the other end of life. When seniors are unsteady, we get them walkers. We put in hand rails, etc.

It is easy to see physical unsteadiness. It is harder to notice mental and spiritual unsteadiness. Yet if we think about it, we know when we are unsteady. But we may not be as conscious of putting in safety precautions. We may not be as diligent as we are with physical unsteadiness.

When we feel unsteady or off kilter, it is a sign that we need to pause. We need to ground ourselves. How? Maybe we get help friends. Or we can meditate and hone in on what is making us so uneasy. We can put backup plans in place. Or perhaps it is something we can postpone until we feel like we are on more solid ground. Whatever it takes, what works for us, is perfect. What is important is that we notice when we feel unsteady, try to understand why, and take action to get back on track.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by  HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Lots of cooking done for dinner at Alpha House.

-Catching up with Alex and Joan.

-A new book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
