If I Had a Hammer | sixdaysblog

For your consideration…

In the song, “If I Had a Hammer,” the singer sings that if they had a hammer, a bell, and a song, they would hammer out justice, ring in freedom, and sing in love between brothers and sisters.

Our message tells us that not everyone has or can use a hammer. Not everyone has a bell to ring, not can everyone write or sing a song. The hammer is great for the carpenter, the bell is great for a bell ringer, and a song is great for a writer or singer. But the rest of us don’t need them, because we are proficient in other ways. We were born with other talents to use to accomplish the same things. We simply need to recognize them and step up to use them for justice, freedom, and love.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Drink lots of water.

-Promote justice, freedom, and love using the talents you have.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Beth and I made dinner for Alpha House and dropped it off.

-Catching up with Alex and Shannon.

-A new book.

-A beautiful day.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
