20 Pictures That Will Make You Feel Happy | Cute animals, Laugh, Animals

For your consideration…

The big things are great but it is the little treasures that keep us happy.

When I got this message today, I immediately had two examples come to mind. The first one was thinking about my husband and our young daughter, Alex. Before he picked her up at the babysitter’s, he would stop by the party store for his beer and cigs. He would always pick up a couple of little bite size reese’s peanut butter cups and put them in his pocket for Alex. Each day she was thrilled like it was a huge surprise. The second example is of my friend, Jackie’s granddaughter, Myla who lives with her. When Myla’s Aunt Melissa visits, she always has something for Myla hidden in her purse. Myla is always thrilled and surprised which makes everyone smile.

Each day little moments. little treasures, are put in our path. They are put there to make our heart smile. They are put there to lighten our load. Maybe it is something a small child says or does. Maybe it is an unexpected call from a friend. Maybe it is finding a prime parking spot when parking is difficult. Maybe it is a new idea. Maybe it is a small gift. ETC.

We are reminded today to not get so caught up in the big stuff, expecting big windfalls, that we forget to notice the small treasures that truly sustain us.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Notice the little treasures put in your path.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Sweet little children.

-I have been going back and forth on whether to sell my house and move to a smaller house. I finally, called in a realtor and now I know. It makes more sense for me to stay here than move to a smaller house. With interest rates and taxes, I would pay as much for a smaller house as what I pay now.

-A good book.

-Catching up with Alex and Lori.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
