Free constitution 4th of july july 4th illustration

For your consideration…

Our message today was brief. It simply asks us to “remember the possibilities.”

July 4th is fun. It is summer. For many, it is a long weekend or even vacation. There are parades and fireworks. It is a celebration, as it should be.

We have a lot of discord and strife happening in the USA. The good news is we are allowed to do that. The flip side is our focus. As we know, our energy go where our focus is. If this discord, unhappiness, anger is what occupies our focus than that is exactly what we will and are going to get more of.

But we are powerful. We have a choice. We always have a choice. Rather than let anger and discord we front and center, we can just notice it and have it take second seat to the “possibilities and opportunities that the framework of our constitution” provides.

There is not better example than the fathers of our nation…the true Patriots. The fought bitterly with one another. There was anger and discord but that all took a backseat to designing and birthing a free nation with opportunities and  possibilities for all.

We are invited,,,expected…to disagree and find better solutions to our problems. But we are reminded to make that second to what is for the highest good of all in this great nation. We are asked to keep the highest good of all in the front seat.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. “Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Keep the “highest good of our nation” front and center in our focus.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Teaching preschoolers at a summer camp.

-A beautiful day.

-Watching and playing with Conner.

-Catching up with Shannon.

-A fireside evening with James, Alex, and their neighbors.

-Lucky for me when I missed their step on their deck that I didn’t injure myself. Just felt stupid.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
