The Experience of Inexperience, Washington | Hunting

For your consideration…

There is a lot that can be said about experience versus inexperience. We all have stories. But today’s message is targeted to our “attitude” about our inexperience. More than likely our attitude towards our experience and inexperience change.

Our message asks us to look at our attitude. Look at the things we would like to do and ask ourselves what is holding us back. Is our attitude hogtying us up. Our we letting our ego talk us out of the opportunity of trying. It is telling us we are too old or too young? Is it reminding us of times we have tried and not succeeded at something else? Are we afraid because we don’t have someone to try it with or don’t know people?

Our ego can come up with a million reasons why we shouldn’t try something new. We are easier to manage when we stick with the comfort of what we know. But it also, prevents us from learning and growing and having fun in new and different ways.

I know a lot of people who have suddenly discovered pickle ball and love it. They took the risk of just trying something new and have found a new hobby with the added benefit of meeting new people and getting more exercise. Or I have heard people say that they wanted to try a new restaurant but don’t have anyone to try it with. The question is “why wait?” What is wrong with trying a new restaurant, store, store, activity, etc. by yourself?

We are asked to step out of our comfort zone and try new things. Let your inexperience ignite your curiosity and encourage you to just try. Taking that step if the first one in gaining experience.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Try new things.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-A great morning with Conner.

-A fun mini high school reunion.

-A hike in a preserve I haven’t tried.

-Finished a book series.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
