Don't bite off more than you can chew" and 7 equivalent idioms into Spanish

For your consideration…

I used this image because it reflects the light hearted feel of today’s message, “Don’t bite off more than you can chew.”

Of course, our message is not about how we eat. It is the old idiom about taking on too much. Many people are procrastinators, lazy, or just very selective with the tasks they take on. On the flip side, probably just as many people are all about taking on as much as they can for themselves and others. They like to get things done. They like to help as much as they can. Of course, balance is the key that most people struggle with.

We are reminded of a couple of things today. First, taking on too much can cause a disservice to the task and others. For instance, maybe it was not ours to take on and we have robbed the opportunity for someone else. Or perhaps we “rob Peter to pay Paul.” We get the job done but at the expense of other tasks and people. .

Secondly, our message reminds us of how we feel when we “bite off more than we can chew.” We feel overwhelmed. We fee crabby, worried and/or scared. Our message today tell us that when we feel that way, we are trying to do too much alone. We are in a partnership with our Guidance. Our Guidance will not step in and run over us. It wants to be invited. It wants us call them in and let them help. Let go and feel the peace of what they put before us.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.
