He's digging his heels in: words and phrases to describe stubborn behaviour – About Words – Cambridge Dictionary blog

For your consideration…

I just had to use this picture. It started my morning off with a laugh. For any of you who have lived on a farm, you will probably immediately remember a time you tried to move an animal that did not want to move. Or a time when they wanted to move but not where you wanted them to go.

Our actual message was, “a stubborn streak a mile wide.” Our message reminds us to suspend judgment. Go to the “why”…whether it is about you or someone else. Once again we need to get to the intention.

Most of us probably think of stubborn as negative. Certainly, stubbornness can try our patience and give us a hard time. But think about stubbornness in people like inventors, or people helping others, etc. That is when we see the flip side and are grateful for it. We don’t call it stubbornness then. We call it persistence.

See…without judgment…when we look for intention…we can see someone’s pain, determination, optimism, fear, exhaustion, exuberance etc. Just like anything else, there is always a flip side, there is always a reason, there needs to be balance.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember,..You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be grateful for “stubborn.”

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful picture perfect day.

-Alex and I hosted Amelia’s baby shower. Weather perfect and no hiccups.

-Seeing old and new friends.

-Spending the day with family.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
