For your consideration…

First of all, “Happy Mother’s Day” to every mother. This is a picture of my mother and even though she has been gone a very long time, I still miss her. But I also frequently feel her presence around me.I am blessed.

There are a couple of parts to today’s message. Frankly they have been coming through for most of this week. In conversations with friends we have talked about us and our siblings and how often we had very different experiences. My younger brother and sister had a very different childhood than our other sister and I. During these conversations we talked about how some people feel cheated or disgruntled.

Mothers…and…fathers do not come with manuals. Yes, yes, I know all about influencers, Pinterest, etc. But the fact is that all parents learn on the job. We make mistakes and do course corrections and continue on. As we learn and grow, our situations change…for better or worse. What is constant is our job as Mother. HOPEfully, most people are blessed with children, some of whom are parents, who understand that we did the best we could and that overshadowing all is our fierce and everlasting love for them.

That is the first part of today’s message. But there is an important second part. It is this…As Mother’s are treated so goes the world. All babies are born loving their mothers. When mother’s are disrespected and diminished in any way, families, cultures, civilization, and the Universe suffer exponential proportions. Mothers are to be treasured, honored, and their loving bond protected. That is how we change the world.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Have a relaxing loving day.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Catching up with Jackie and both my girls.

-A fun crafting class with friends. We made some beautiful cards.

-A beautiful day.

-With all of the road construction even right outside my sub, I was expecting a long tough ride to St. Clair. Going and coming I saw backups on the other side of the freeway but I had clear sailing.

-Flower and herb planting done.

-Appetizers for today made.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
