For your consideration…

Our message today is about procrastination. We all know the saying, “Don’t put off til tomorrow what you can do today.” We have reasons why “it” can wait…or not. Maybe we just don’t feel like doing it. Maybe it is something we need to do but we don’t want to do it. Most of us can agree that when we finally do get the task done and off of our plate, we feel relieved, accomplished, happier, etc. We know all of this.

So today’s message wants us to consider this. We need to get past the surface, past the excuses, and ask ourselves, “Why?” Why are we procrastinating? What is the truth? What are we afraid of?

There is a reason why we procrastinate. We need to understand that. Be honest with ourselves and move forward.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Face our truth.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Some good answers on my solar.

-A good book.

-Alex and James has me, Shannon and Will over for dinner. It was delicious.

-Very cool birthday gifts.

-I love to cook. I literally have hundreds of cookbooks…old and new. One of my girlfriends, Carol, told me a few years ago that she had bought the Joanna Gaines cookbook and everything recipe she tried in there was terrific. I bought the book and the first thing I made out of it, (Not sure but I think it was meatloaf) was not that great. Alex still lived in Washington and was home for a visit and mentioned she wanted to get that cookbook. I said, “You can have mine.” Everything she has made out of it has been great. The chocolate chip cookies are the best I have ever had. Yesterday, she made a kale salad, scalloped potatoes, and beef tenderloin. All of the recipes were out of that cookbook. Everything was not just good but delicious. Darn…I think I am going to have to buy that book again.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
