For your consideration…

We should not be surprised to receive a message on “isolation.” There is a lot of talk about the damage done by Covid. Not only the physical challenges but also the mental and emotional ones. There is a lot of studies being done centered around children. And there needs to be. But our message today tells us that more and more adults suffer from isolation.

To many, it seems like isolation is more prevalent now than ever before. Of course, in our early pioneer days, people were used to being alone. But over the years, we have gotten away from that kind of existence. With the advancement of technology, we are not different than the children we are concerned about. The time spent on our computers and phones can be addictive.

Our message today reminds us that technology can be good, and great even, when there is no other alternative. But nothing replaces in-person communication. No technology can compete with a hug.

If we are feeling more isolated, there are things we can do. Put down our phones. Get off our computers. Get out among people…those you know and those you don’t.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Interact with people. Spread your sunshine.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Cathy is here.

-A little bit of sunshine.

-Teacher friends coming for dinner and a planning meeting.

-Catching up with Alex.

-Mackenzie got to Barcelona safe and sound and is all settled in.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
