For your consideration…

“Further On (Up the Road)” is probably my favorite Bruce Springsteen song. Imagine my delight this morning to wake up to sunshine…wahoo…and then having this song bring in our message.

It seems there is always controversy about everything and it seems this song likes to bring debate. Some think it is gloomy, political,…whatever. I love the song. The bottom line is we are all on a one-way road. We have ups and downs, and forks to choose from, but we are going in the same direction.

Today our focus is on this part…

“Now I’ve been out in the desert, just doin’ my timeSearchin’ through the dust, lookin’ for a signIf there’s a light up ahead, well brother I don’t knowBut I got this fever burnin’ in my soul
Further on up the road, further on up the roadFurther on up the road, further on up the road
One sunny mornin’ we’ll rise I knowAnd I’ll meet you further on up the road”
We live and we die…our physical selves do. But our Spirit goes on forever. In this song, this person has doubt, but that fever in his soul keeps the HOPE alive. We meet up again with those we love and probably those we don’t.
We often come across people we have not seen in a long time. We have opportunities to mend fences. We have opportunities to present ourselves differently as we learn and grow. But even if we miss these opportunities in this life, we will have them again in our next. Let regrets go.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…
-Affirm…“I am loved.”
-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Let regrets go. Let your light shine now.
What made me smile yesterday…
-Spending the day with Conner.
-Catching up with Mary and Cathy.
-A good book.
Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
