For your consideration…

If I could have gotten to my phone in time, this picture is almost exactly what I saw this morning. As I stood at my sink waiting for my coffee to be warmed up, a little visitor just like this one waited with me….him staring at me and me staring at him.

It is winter where I live and many birds leave for the winter. But the sparrows are tough little birds and they stay year around. It goes to show that size doesn’t matter.

In Ted Andrews’s book. Animal Speak, we learn that sparrows represent “awakening and triumph of common nobility.” And their cycle is year-round. Lore has it that it is the one bird present during the crucifixion of Christ and so it is that they are a symbol of triumph after longsuffering.

The tiny sparrow reminds us that the common person is inherently strong. The sparrow reminds us of our self-worth. We are survivors. We will not let others steal our power or minimize us. The redhead today reminds us that we are lights in the world.

Finally, we are drawn to the spots forming an inverted triangle on the sparrow throat and breast. This represents the drawing down of energy to awaken the heart and throat centers. It reminds us that each of us has a connection to Spirit and that we need to let IT guide us.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Take our guidance from Spirit and be a light to the world.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Another warm day.

-Catching up with Alex.

-Some decorations were put away.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
