For your consideration…

I really have to get back down to doing some Bible reading. Our message today is exactly this, “Take a step out of the box. Do something new.” As I searched for a picture of doing something new, many were of Isaiah 43:19. Quite frankly, I have never read it before. See, no coincidences.

Maybe we already have a bucket list or maybe we need to create one. Remember, it is a living document. We can add and delete as we live our lives. Our message today is just asking that we take a step to doing something new. Notice it doesn’t say to have to finish it. Maybe we will. Maybe we won’t. We just have to step towards it thus turning our focus to it.

As we pause and think about doing something new, we have to be careful not to let ourselves get overwhelmed. That is why our message is to take a step. Too often we look at the big picture and think, “too big.. don’t know how.. will never  happen.” This thinking is the death of our dreams.

Today, pick something new we want to do and do it or take a step towards doing it…researching it, picking a date, talking about it, envisioning it, asking a friend to do it with us, outlings the steps that it might be involved in bringing it to fruition, start a savings fund for it, etc.

We always have the power to take that step. We are asked to do it today. It is the start of a new path full of the new and unexpected. It creates a new path and space for blessings to be bestowed on us.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Affirm…”I will do something new today.”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all>”

What made me smile yesterday…

-Wow, some warmer temps.

-A new couch snuggle blanket.

-A good book.

-I remembered some great ravioli that I had picked up at Eastern Market. Such a good dinner…

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
