For your consideration…

Our message actually cam in as “You can run but you can not hide.” Actually, it just keeps coming up even though I think we had a message about it recently. Still, lets go at it again from the standpoint of choices.

Today we are given the example of “either/or.” Some times we like this choice. Things have been narrowed down for us. There is less thinking we need to do. But still, th3ere is a lot that goes into either/or. Let us use a simple example; Which shirt/blouse should I wear today?

Seems simple enough but our brain and emotions are actually rapidly firing off questions and opinions; What is the weather? Is it comfortable? Which color do I like better? Which looks better on me? Which is more appropriate for where I am going? Does it need ironing? Have I wore it to the same event before? Do I have the right pants/slacks/ skirt to where with it? What accessories do I have to go with each? Which of those do I like better and ar3e more comfortable? ETC.? ETC? ETC?

So it goes with all choices and sometimes we don’t want to make them. We don’t want to face them. We want to run away from them but they don’t go away. They stay with them. So rather than running and hiding, lets start asking the questions. Picking the situation apart until we can decide what to do. We can start with asking ourselves why we don’t want to make the decision. What is holding us back?

We can accept that we are human. We don’t know everything. That is OK. We can let go of preconceived opinions and habits. We can educated ourselves. We can ask questions, listen to answers, and weight them. Do they make sense? How are they sitting with us? What is our instinct telling us?

We do not need to keep problems, tasks, etc. on or plate. They weigh us down. We need to accept that they are are there for a reason. Ask the questions, do the work, make the decision.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit,, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-D4rink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Do the work. Ask the questions. Make the decision.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Working with middle schoolers.

-I was helping a student and another raised his hand. I signaled that I would get him next. But by the time I got done with the one student, I had forgot the oth3er student. When I sat back down at the desk, he approached. I said, “Oh, I am so sorry. I think I have a short term memory loss problem.” “No problem,” he said, “I have ADD.”

-Catching up with Susan and Jackie.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
