For your consideration…

Our message today came in exactly as, “the art of problem-solving.” When I tried to find an image for it, they were for solving math problems. But today’s message is not about math it is about problems in relationships…problems between people. I had to laugh when I found the above image. We have these types of posters all over our schools to help children identify how they feel and ways to handle situations.

The tone of our message today is light-hearted. Its focus is on the trivial. A lot of conflicts are unnecessary. Quite simply, we need to ask ourselves a few questions.

-Is this really important?

-Am I angry for a reason or simply irritated?

-Is my own “mood” a contributing factor?

-Is there a better time to address this?

-Am I being reasonable?

-Am I hearing…listening…to the other person?

-Is this really worth an argument?

-Etc.

You get the point. We all have a lot going on in our lives. We don’t really need to complicate it by making mountains out of molehills. We are worth more than that. Sometimes it is better to let things go.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Think about it…is it worth an argument?

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-A good amount of Christmas wrapping done. One of my favorite things to do.

-Spending time with James and Alex.

-A great cooking class.

-A new book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
