For your consideration…

I am so happy to be able to write about “home” today. I am not sure why but I have thought and talked about it a lot lately. Throughout my life I have gone different places and immediately know is this someplace that I feel comfortable in. Is this a place I can settle in and feel comfy, secure, and peaceful? I felt this way in Poland, Utila, Roatan, Panama City Beach, Budapest, Algonac, MI, and of course, Ypsilanti, MI where I live.

As I have thought about “home” I have come to realize that time is not the factor. That feeling, the connection is more immediate. It is unforced. It is as though your heart just knows. Perhaps it is the energy of the environment and the people that resonates with us. It explains why we can go on a wonderful vacation but it feels so good to be home.

Home is important to us. It is where we can decompress in a place free of judgement. We need that. It is key to our happiness. We know this and so we try to make places our own by creating that “home” feeling we desire. Success is when we manage this naturally…unforced.

Today we are asked to do a deep dive and figure out what our “home” feels and looks like. Are we there? If so, great. If not, how can we get there? Make a plan to make it happen.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…”I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Make sure we have a home our heart recognizes.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Jul came over and helped me move a bench into the house.

-Catching up with both my girls.

-My new “portable” kayak came.

-I successfully got my new TV set up all by myself.

-Catching up with Jackie and Mary.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
