For your consideration…

I actually love the old Neil Diamond song, “Love on the Rocks.” But of course, we feel sad when love hurts. Sometimes it is unavoidable but sometimes it is not.

Losing someone to physical death is unavoidable. Hurting someone through words, lack of kindness, ignoring, punishing, etc. is avoidable.

Our message today is exactly this…“You don’t have to like someone to love them.”

Every person, place, or thing was placed here by God for a specific purpose known to him. We don’t have to like someone to love them. That is what we are asked to do and we are failing. I don’t like brown grass but I still love my lawn when it turns brown. That is an oversimplification but it is the same with people. We do not have to like someone…the things they do or say…but we are asked to love them anyway.

Imagine a world where we love those we disagree with. Instead, we kill them with kindness.

This is a hard message but our world needs more love. So often we feel like there is nothing we can do. But this we can do. This does make the world a better place. This is a game changer.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Love anyway.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Bed changed and decked out for the holidays.

-Some more decorating.

-Conner, James, Alex. and I went to see the Immersive Nutcracker. So fun.

-Dinner at Flounders.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
