For your consideration…

I was given a couple of examples as this message came in. One of them is personal and old. The other is very current and relevant to all of us. I think there is a purpose to the examples. It shows us that no matter the time or person, this is an important message for us to keep in the forefront of our lives.

So the first message that is old and personal is of my great grandmother. To be honest, she was not the nicest of people. But look, here she is in today’s message proving to me that yes, there was no mistake. She was meant to be my great grandmother. There are many stories I could share but the one that came forward today was about her and her husband, Benny. He was not my grandfather. In fact, Benny was the young man she had picked out to marry my grandmother. When my grandmother broke her engagement and married my grandfather, her mother was furious. So furious that she married Benny herself. Yes…it was a scandal. Yes, Benny was obviously much younger than her. Benny and her had  went on to have ason. My great grandmother became obsessed with her son and her money. Less so with Benny who I might add was a very nice man. Every day she obsessed that she did not want to die and Benny get her money. For years she obsessed away. But guess what? Benny died ahead of her. All of those years of making herself miserable were for nothing.

The current example we were given is of Hurricane Ian. Who in its path could have predicted how it would impact them?

And that is the point. We can never know what tomorrow or even the next moment will bring. So we have a choice. We always have a choice. We can obsess and worry or we can choose to turn things around. We can choose to look at where we are and all of the things we are blessed with. We can express our gratitude. Gratitude, is the key to turning things around.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-When sad, anxious, or worried, turn things around with your gratitude.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Another beautiful day.

-I got everything in the yard that needs to come in in except for a couple of pots I will need help with.

-New microwave installed.

-Catching up with Jackie, Jody, and Shannon.

-A good book and early bedtime.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
