For your consideration…

At first our message today reminded me of babies and small children because it is about developing the brain. So I will take just a moment to remind ourselves of the importance of the first five years of a child’s life. It is in these years that the child’s brain makes the connections creating the foundations for all learning. This is the critical time in a child’s life and the more we…all of us…can teach them and the experiences we can expose them to is an investment in their entire life.

Now, of course, we don’t stop learning then. With the developed brain we can gather, reason, analyze, etc. whatever comes our way. We can learn and grow. We need never stop. Each day life, experiences, books, media, people, etc. teach us and we gain knowledge and wisdom.

Our message today tells us to always reach for the stretch goal of gaining wisdom. That means we need to be discerning but not judgemental. It means we need to listen more with an open mind and closed mouth. We need to think positively and share our optimism and wisdom.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Take care of our minds.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day…perfect weather.

-Jody and Sigrid got off. It was not sad this year because we will see Jody again in a couple of weeks.

-Crafting and wrapping.

-James’ parents came to visit them and James invited me over for dinner. We had a great walk, dinner, and visit.

-A good book and early bedtime.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
