For your consideration…

I don’t ever remember a praying mantis showing up here at the house. Usually in the fall we find one or two at school.

What do you think about when you think about the praying mantis? For me it is the position of its arms and its “stillness.” It can stay in one position for hours.

Indeed, that is what praying mantis tells us….be patient, be still, go within. The word “mantis” is a Greek word meaning “prophet.” Going within we can open ourselves up to prophecy.

It is not surprising the the praying mantis plays a large role in the martial arts. Part of kung fu is chi kung where the individual learns to go within and direct the body’s life force along specific avenues strengthening it and empowering it through the various organs and systems of the body.. Tai Chi is much the same.

Within…the stillness…is where we can harness our power. The power within is where we can heal our bodies, our minds, our Spirit, gain clarity and wisdom, find our direction, etc.

We are reminded today via the praying mantis the power of stillness and that we can use this power to strengthen and engage our personal power.

That is the HOPE. And so iti s.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

–Get still.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step fo rmy highest good and the highest good of all?”

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Catching up with both my girls. Shannon never fails to make me laugh.

-Catching up with Susan.

-Canning some tomatoes.

-A good nap.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
