For your consideration…

As soon as this message came in, I immediately thought about a conversation I had with my daughter the other night. We were trying to consense on a night we could have dinner and decided Tuesday would be best because her sister would already be in town for work. She goes on to say, “That’s Conner’s swim practice night but that is ok. James can take him by himself. I do it all the time.” Oh, point taken.

That is where my mind went but it is not exactly the point of the message. I was quickly redirected. We all have special talents…things we do better than others. Likewise, they do things better than we do. It is easy to say, “Hey, I’ll just do it for you.” Or, let them do the task for us. It makes sense because it is expedient.

But expediency is not the point. Having the experience, learning the task, learning the lesson is what it is about.

If we think back, we probably had a learning curve as well. Think about babies. It is easier and far less messy to feed them than hand them a spoon. Yet in the long run that gets turned around.

Our message today, “What’s good for the goose is good for the gander” is all about giving others the space to learn as we have and not jump in and steal the experience nor let other steal the experience from us.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Learn and let learn.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Catching up with Jody and Sigrid and getting their visit dates squared away.

-Finished sewing a couple of baby quilts that I have had in progress but had to set aside for a couple of weeks.

-A good book.

-Menu planned for a couple of events I have here this week.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
