For your consideration…

Isn’t this a wonderful picture? Just two people having a conversation. How does it make you feel? Hopefully, it makes you feel like this is a conversation you would like to have.

Our message today is about conversation…talking to one another. How do you think we are doing with that? Good conversation is one person talking and another listening…in turns…WITHOUT JUDGMENT.

How often are you speaking with someone and you sense that they are not really listening? Their mind and focus are elsewhere. Or they are thinking about their response just waiting to jump in and deliver it. Beyond our own experience, we don’t have to go very far for examples. We simply need to turn on the news where examples of bad conversation are taken to a whole new level. Indeed, you listen and agree or you are shut down from further conversation, even excommunicated from the group. Groupthink has taken over much of our culture. Many of us feel it is unsafe, or not worth the effort to try to have meaningful conversations.

Does that feel right to you? No matter the subject does that feel right to you?

We are part of a collective. You know the saying, “We are all Spiritual beings sharing a human experience.” So let’s go back to basics. Let’s think about how Spirit communicates. Spirit always communicates with love, even if we don’t like or agree with what is being given to us, it still feels like love. Spirit listens with a loving and open heart. And responds with the same.

As Spiritual beings, we are reminded that we need to mimic Spirit. We need to have human conversations with an open and loving heart…and without judgment. Again, we don’t have to agree to still respond like Spirit. We are asked not to get sucked into bad conversation. Instead, be the example. Mimic Spirit.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.
