from the Foundations of Self-Love blog

For your consideration…

I should not have been surprised that this was today’s message. Indeed, it is that it took me so long to get it. Every time I talked to someone, watched something, read something yesterday the topic of taking care of “self” came up.

Of course, we have had messages about going within and letting our Spirit guide us in all things. This reminds us that we need to also take care of our whole self…body, mind, and spirit.

Today focuses on not “beating ourselves up.” I am good at doing this. I am good at getting things done but when I feel like I am “slacking off,” I chastise myself. This is wrong thinking. Rather than focusing on what we are not or did not get done, we need to change our focus to celebrate the rest we are taking.

We all need downtime to recharge and renew, our body, mind, and spirit. We regain our strength in downtime. We can ruminate on new ideas, solutions, plans, gratitude, etc.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking the time to chill out and rejuvenate. It is a must.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Go within and consult with Spirit on all things. Write it down. Do a proof loop. How did that advice serve you?

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Drink lots of water.

-Take care of ourselves.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Catching up with Yvette, Alex, Kathy, and Lori.

-Met with a lawyer and we are almost done with “estate planning.”

-A good class.

-Reading.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
