For your consideration…

I have had conversations…and laughs…with some of my friends around this very topic. Collette Barton Reid had a winter solstice event complete with a reading and numerology. In a nutshell, we can all agree that the last couple of years has been difficult….necessary but difficult. We are in a state of change. We have been forced to change and let go of a lot of things. We are not going to get completely to the other side this year but we are getting close. This year is going to be much easier but will still have to make some changes around setting boundaries.

So I had to laugh today when today’s message came in via the song, “It’s Your Thing.” In particular, the main lyric, “It’s your thing do what you wanna do.” It is perfect for what we are being asked to do this year.

We have had many messages about being bombarded through the media telling us what we need to or must do. We are on overload. This year we are being asked to set boundaries. Say NO! We don’t need to say it meanly or disrespectfully. We don’t have to judge. We don’t have to persuade anyone else. No, we are simply asked to set our own boundaries based on what feels right in our spirit and keep those boundaries.

Likewise, if someone tells us no or sets boundaries up with us, we should not be offended or hurt. We need to recognize that perhaps it is what is needed to continue a relationship…more healthy relationship.

One last point. While today’s message came in upbeat and fun with the song, it is a firm message. The last couple of years has taught us that we can change on our own or we will be forced to change. Let’s not be forced to set boundaries. Let’s do it on our own. Learn to say NO.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…\

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Set boundaries. Learn to say NO.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Catching up with Alex, Shannon, Kathy M, and Jackie.

-Alex has found one of her missing bags at the Seattle airport….and she has decided to come home for a couple of days afterall. Fingers crossed and big prayers that she is able to make it here tomorrow.

-A new book.

-Lisa came and I was able to get out for a couple of hours and get some errands done.

-Caught another mouse.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
