For your consideration…

Today we are given a task for consideration. It seems like a little task but I suspect it will be harder for some of us…me…than others.

We are asked to acknowledge, compliment every little good thing someone says or does. Even if we just see something good, note it to ourselves. Think about it.

I was shown an example that sometimes happens here in the house. My husband, Bruce, has dementia and vascular disease. His brain knows what it wants the feet to do and the feet know what they want to do but they have a hard time connecting with one another. Good days are when he can use his walker to come to the kitchen and back. It is a slow process to be sure. Then the real strategy needs to happen. He has to figure out how to turn him and the walker around to sit in his chair. When he successfully does this on his own, I often say, “Wow, good job.” This always makes him chuckle. This is a small moment but it changes the energy. It uplifts the energy. It turns it from stress to gratitude.

This is what our message wants us to notice. We can control the narrative. We can control the energy. We can turn things around one little thing, one little moment at a time. You have a spill but looky here, a rag is sitting right here to make things right. The mail came but no bills, wahoo. Etc. Etc. Etc.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Acknowledge all of the good little moments.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Catching up with both of my girls and Mary.

-A good book.

-The house cleaners came. I love how the house looks and smells when they are done.

-Some card making done.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
