“Free Spirit” by Vicki Rawlins

For your consideration…

In the United States, we hear and read a lot about freedom, civil liberties, unalienable rights, etc. It is the foundation of this nation. It is the things we are garanteed.

Our message today tells us to pause and think. Those rights, those gifts, are like any other gifts. For them to be reality they have to be received. We have to actively, consciously, receive them.

“We are as free as we wanna be.” is the exact words of our message. We have to wanna be free to be free, to experience freedom. Just because we have the right to be free does not mean that we are. We are not free unless we feel free in our spirit, in our core.

Likewise, we can lack civil liberties, even imprisonment, and have a free spirit. Think about Nelson Mandela. He always owned his spirit and the freedom within it.

We are meant to be free. We are free…free as we wanna be. How free that is depends on us.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Seek a free spirit. Nurture a free spirit. Grow a free spirit.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Finally, after 2 months my refrigerator is fixed…almost. It runs but now we have discovered that the lights bulbs were all also blown out. They we bring them back, HOPEfully soon. Still, I am so excited.

-A new book.

-Bruce had a pretty good day.

-Catching up with Alex. We love the pictures she sends.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
