For your consideration…

I think it was only yesterday I was talking to my friend, Dianne, talking about the proverbial full plate.

I don’t know about you, but when I am carrying a full plate, I tend to get crabby. And I get very frustrated when I know it but every time I try to clear something off of it, another something jumps on it.

Our message today reminds us of a couple of things. First of all, full plates are part of life. We not only get life lessons from what is on our plate but we also get a lesson in balance. We are asked to look at what is on our plate. What needs to be there? What doesn’t? What can we clear off of it?

It should be noted that clearing off does not necessarily mean resolving or completing it. If we are carrying something on our plate that is not ours to carry, we can simply take it off of our plate….release it…without guilt. This practice is by itself a life lesson that some of us have a hard time mastering. I know that I struggle with this.

The second part of today’s message reminds us to be aware of when our plate is getting full and not to voluntarily add more to it. In fact, we are reminded that we do not need to replace anything that is taken off of our plates. There is nothing wrong with empty space. Space gives us the time we need to regroup, take some deep breaths, plan, and recharge our batteries.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray….ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Check out what is on our plates and make some adjustments.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Catching up with Mary, Dianne, and Alex.

-Great leftovers.

-A beautiful day.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
