For your consideration…

A couple of things immediately came to mind when we were given today’s message. One of them is a roundabout. The other was cell phones/technology in general.

How many times have you heard or said…in frustration…“How hard can it be.” When I lived in Poland, I am sure the drivers surrounding me we saying this about me as I tried to master the roundabouts. Probably fifty percent of the time when I am approaching the roundabout near my house….a relatively easy one, there is always a car that stops to look all ways. If there is a car in sight, they stay put. Ugh.

When we vacationed in Panama City last winter, my sister-in-law came to visit. Her cell phone would no longer keep a charge. We went to replace it. She wanted another Android but her kids wanted her to get an IPhone. She struggles with the phone sometimes. Their thought was it is easier for them to help her with the IPhone. But for her to learn a whole new system was problematic. Ultimately, she stuck with what she knew. When she get in trouble I try to walk her through it.

Most adults look at children with awe. There does not seem to be any technology that they can’t master quickly and easily.

These are all examples reminding us that we all have different talents. What comes easily for some, can be extremely difficult for others. Perhaps we just aren’t hardwired for something while others are. Perhaps it is because we don’t like it while others love it…like gardening or cooking. Perhaps it is because of lack of exposure.

We are asked today to think about this when our patience wears thin. Try to understand and help versus get frustrated and angry.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Try to understand when others lack the desire or talent to do something. Exercise patience.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Jody and I are almost done with the Borgias series.

-A good book.

-Catching up with both my girls.

-Dinner with Vicki, Jul, and Jody.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
