Helping Others and Being of Service - The SHAIR Recovery Podcast

For your consideration…

I love this thought, quote. “We rise by lifting others.” But I have to laugh because today’s message came in as exactly tihs, Don’t be a hoarder.” Yet today these phrases are perfect for each other.

What do they have in common that links them? Sharing…We are asked today to share what we have. Don’t hold on to things that we might need in the future. Give it to someone who needs it now. If you are cooking a dinner or baking and have extra, take some to a friend or neighbor. Save them the task. If you have clothes you won’t be wearing or haven’t worn in a while, take them to the drop boxes that are all over in shopping mall parking lots. If you have a talent, use it for charity or helping a friend. If you have party supplies, borrow them out. Save people from having to buy or rent them. If you have extra pet supplies, make a donation at the animal shelter. If you have extra time, volunteer.

The bottom line to today’s message is don’t be a hoarder with time, talent, or stuff. Share. We help ourselves when we help others.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Share.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Bruce is much stronger.

-A beautiful day.

-Catching up with Alex.

-A good book.

-Getting the new TV set up. I am not tech savvy. This is a big deal for me.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,
