For your consideration…

…but we can not hide. Or so the saying goes. The truth is that our ego provides lots of hiding places. It is why so many of us seek therapy.

Children in healthy environments are given constant encouragement. We build up their ego, self-esteem, courage to grow into strong healthy adults. That is the healthy part of ego. But like in everything, there needs to be a balance. We can create “big heads…big egos” that overshadow our spirit…our true selves.

We know the truth about ourselves and sometimes as we grow and learn we disappoint ourselves. Sometimes we are ashamed and try to hide. But that is the ego talking. No one is perfect. We all do things that we wish we hadn’t. Or we don’t do things that we know we should have. That is all part of our journey. If we are brave and go within, we find that there is no judgment. We find that we are perfect and whole. The judgment came from our ego. Our spirit accepts us just as we are.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved…”

-Affirm…“…exactly as I am.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-A good afternoon walk.

-Meeting more neighbors. I am finding that as I switch up our walking time we meet different people. That is the good part of the flip side of my preference for walking early.

-Catching up with Alex and James.

-I finished a good book series.

-Bruce did not have any falls today. Wahoo!

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
