“Tree of Peace”

by Josephine Wall

For your consideration…

I love the art of Josephine Wall and have used it many times and knew I wanted to use it for today’s message. However, that is not how today’s message came in. It came in via the comedy “Mis Confidentiality.” Sandra Bullock starred in it as an undercover agent at a beauty pageant. She was skeptical of the whole pageant scene and mocked it until she got to know many of the girls and was gradually won over. In the end she tearfully states,  “I really do want world peace.”

“I want world peace,” is a standard answer much like we say “How are yo9u?” without really much thought, eye contact, or engagement with the addressed person. It pretty goes without saying that we all want to live in peace.

Today’s message asks us to think about it. Think about our standard answer. What are we talking about? What does peace look like to us? What does it feel like to us? What does world peace look and feel like? How does it operate? How is it maintained?

These are not questions that can be answered quickly. Perhaps the easiest way to start is by thinking about when we feel peaceful within ourselves. What makes us feel this way? What does it look like? How can we remain peaceful?

We are manifestors. Our body, mind, and spirit need to be in sync to manifest. We need to be clear on what we want. If we want peace, we need to be very clear on on what that looks like and feels like.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask… “What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths. Notice the harmony of Mother Nature.

-Think about what peace looks and feels like.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Catching up with Jackie, Mary, and Alex.

-A beautiful day.

-An early morning walk with Louie.

-Since we were up so early, we did all of our chores early and were done by 9:30. Wow!

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
