For your consideration…

Today’s message came in via a song, sort of. It came in with these words that I knew were from a song, “I can’t heal your sons and daughters but the least I can do is care.” You have to love that that was enough to find the song and give due credit to Kid Rock and his song, “Care.” All of the lyrics to the song is wonderful but we are asked to focus on the bridge and chorus;

[Bridge]
Cuz I hear screamin on the left
And yelling on the right
Im sitting in the middle trying to live my life

[Chorus]
Cuz I cant stop the war
Shelter homeless, feed the poor
I can’t walk on water
I can’t save your sons and daughters
I can’t change the world to make things fair
The least that I can do

We want to make things better for ourselves and others. We are problem solvers. We are healers. We want to heal. This is good. So what is the problem? Why can’t I heal your sons and daughters

Healing is like any other gift. It is a two way energy. We may give with our whole heart but in order for it to work its magic, the recipient has to be open and want to receive. We have free will. We have to want to receive gifts including healing. Addiction is a good example. We can love, give, problem solve with everything we have to no avail. The addict, themselves, is the only one who can choose to receive the help and love. When our support is no received, it can be a big let down…defeating even.

But today’s message tells us that is the wrong focus. Instead we need to believe that the act of Caring has enormous impact, if not on the individual themselves, then on those that surround them including ourselves. We should never give up on caring or underestimate its power.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Care.

What made me smile yesterday…

-An absolutely beautiful day.

-Many and Don came over for dinner. We outdid ourselves.

-Catching  up with Shannon and Jody.

-A good book.

-A new hair cut.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
