For your consideration…

I had never heard of the above quote until I went searching today for a picture that represented today’s message. I love it.

Today’s message came in via my own words about our new puppy, Louie. Our last two dogs have been golden retreivers and both of them were terrified of storms and fireworks. It was difficult during holidays. When I had my cottage, I quit taking my pet because there were always fireworks and it was so hard for him…and me. So when I got this little puppy, Louie, a cavapoo, I was on pins and needles about how he would react to storms and fireworks. It is a totally different ball game. I often tell my friends and family, “It isn’t that he isn’t afraid of things.” In fact it is funny when something scares him. He will pause, and then run full speed to me, and jump into my arms. But then reassured, he will go back out and be ok. I always add to “He is afraid, but he has a brave heart.”

We all can identify brave people and acts of bravery….bit things. But today is not about the big things. It is about all of the little things; acts, thoughts, words, emotions, etc. that scare us. It is about the little fears that we have. We all have them. We are afraid to engage with strangers at an event, or heaven forbid speak. We are afraid to try something new. We are afraid to speak our mind. We are afraid to go someplace new. We are afraid we are not going to get something done on time., etc.

Our message today reminds us that we have help 24/7. All we have to do is ask. Then go for it. Let our hearts be brave and overcome our fears. We all have it in us to be brave.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be brave.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day and wonderful nighttime rainstorm, perfect.

-A good evening walk with Louie.

-I finished a book series.

-Finally got one of Bruce’s prescriptions sorted out.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
