For your consideration…

Today’s message emphasizes paying attention to what we are hearing, seeing, feeling. It is about paying attention and looking for affirmations…signs. Sometimes it is easier than others. Lately, we have been getting more messages through Mother Earth and her creatures; butterflies, finches etc. They seem to insist on grabbing our attention.

I am called to use yesterday as an example.

Our message yesterday was about exploring, being an explorer. I had two friends, Vickie and Julie, over for brunch belatedly celebrating Vickie’s birthday. As we chatted, Julie talked about her upcoming vacation to Deleware. She left today. She told us that, quite unlike herself, she had invited herself on this vacation. She didn’t have concrete plans on exactly what they would be doing. She was just going to “explore.” I remarked how serendipitous that was because “being an explorer” was the message I had received for the blog. As we talked about it is “meant to be,” this butterfly flew in through the open dining room door where we were eating and stayed with us throughout brunch…another affirmation.

This beautiful butterfly is a bluetail swallow. The black and blue of this butterfly are significant. Black is the unknown and blue is spirituality. Remember, butterflies are about transformation and change. They remind us to do it with joy and grace. So our butterfly yesterday reminded us to explore with joy. Let our exploration grow and change us.

The affirmations were not done at lunch. Normally have a pretty detailed plan laid out for Wednesday and Friday afternoons. These are the days that I have a caregiver come in to sit with my husband so I can leave the house. Yesterday, was different. I did not have a complete list of what I needed to get done. I decided that I would start to look for fabric for a baby quilt I need for October. Sometimes this is easy. Sometimes it takes a while. I found fabrics I loved for the quilt. Then I found the above-pictured fabric. I made a quilt for my expected grandson and it had planes on it along with other modes of transportation. It is bright and beautiful. But I loved the above fabric with planes. Should I do another quilt for him, or shouldn’t I? The decision is not even close. The fabric says, “explore, adventure, discover” just what yesterday’s message was all about. How is that for serendipity? There are no coincidences. This was another affirmation for us.

I don’t care who you are. You just have to love our Guidance…those angel winks.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Pay attention to what is grabbing your attention.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Lunch with friends.

-A productive afternoon.

-All those affirmations.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
