For your consideration…

I just love how today’s message came together. First of all, it came in via a Lady Gaga song’s lyrics, “And the world keeps turning and turning and I’m not moving on.” Do we ever feel that way? Do we ever feel stuck? Do we feel like we are spinning our wheels?

As I waited for more message clarification, I was reminded of an incident that happened last night. It was already very late. I was sitting in my family room. The patio door was cracked open because…you know…I have this puppy that I am still trying to potty train. I was sitting reading and suddenly a large dark brown with white spots on its wingtips started flying around the room. He would land for a moment, look at me, fly some more, stop, and look at me. Of course, I went for my phone camera. Just as I was ready to get his picture, he flew back out the door.

What was striking was that unlike a couple of birds that have flown in the house, he was not panicked. He was not lost. He was not trapped. He knew what he was doing and left when he  had captured my attention.

We are reminded by the butterfly that we are not really stuck and we should pay attention to why we feel that way. Butterflies bring joy and color? Are we feeling joyful, noticing color, feeling our blessings? Lighten up. Butterflies bring change, transformation….not all at once. So we need to be open to opportunities that are put in front of us. Be willing to step out of our comfort zones.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-I am perfection.

-Notice opportunities to make changes and grow.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Drink lots of water.

What made me smile yesterday.

-Catching up with both my girls and my sister.\

-A nice walk with Louie.

-A hot sunny day.

-A good book.

-A chill, peaceful 4th of July.

-Sooo grateful that Louie is not afraid of storms or fireworks.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
