For your consideration…

I am surprised at today’s message. As I sat with it, I realize it makes sense. On the surface not so much but in the deep dive it does.

To us, every duck knows how to swim. They are born experts, thus the phrase, like a duck to water. We use that when things seem to come naturally.

But our message tells us a couple of things. First of all, not every duck swims as well as the next. As I think of it, having lived on the water and watched the new baby ducks I realize this is true. There is always one or two babies that lag behind or even stray until Mom gets firm with them. She makes them get back in the group and encourages them to keep up.

There is a second part of the message. Just because something does not come naturally does not define the success of the outcome. In other words, we may or may not take to something like a duck to water. But down the road, we may be successful or not. Those of us who have worked harder may or may not be just as or more successful. How quickly we take to something is NOT  the indicator of success. Determination and effort go a long way.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Put in the effort for what you want.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Ginger and I got their family cemetary planted.

-Bruce, as always, bought us lunch at Win Schulers.

-A rain to help all that we planted.

-A good book.

-Catching up with Alex and Jackie.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
