For your consideration…

Today’s message came in by way of a conversation I had when my granddaughter was here last weekend. We all like It cosmetics. I get autoship on mascara from one of the TV channels when it is on sale. I end up not using it as fast as it comes…even more so with the quarantine. The result has been that I supply both my daughters and granddaughter with mascara. Before she left last week, I asked Mac how she was doing with mascara and did she need more. She kind of hesitated before she asked which kind I had. IT has a couple of different kinds and evidently, she prefers one over the other. The point of the message, the reason this example was given to me this morning, was all about the “hesitation.” Mac did not want to appear ungrateful or seem picky.

We are told today that we all have different preferences: things, people, weather, hobbies, etc. We have different likes and dislikes. And that is ok. Our preferences should not offend others nor should we be offended by theirs. We tend to get hung up on the semantics of  “likes and dislikes.”  So let’s think of them as “preferences” instead. And let’s remind ourselves that our preferences correlate with our uniqueness. We should be free to express them.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Mediate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Celebrate our uniqueness.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Sunshine.

-Catching up with Alex and Jackie.

-A good book.

-I love our doctor’s office. They are so good at follow-up.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
