On the Sunny Side of the Street (in part) by Louis Armstrong

Now I greet the day and complete the day
With the sun in my heart
All my worry blew away
When you taught me how to say
Grab your coat and get your hat
Leave your worry on the doorstep
Just direct your feet
To the sunny side of the street
Can’t you hear a pitter-pat?
And that happy tune is your step
Life can be so sweet
On the sunny side of the street

For your consideration…

Today’s message is all about intention. We are given an exercise to try.

-When we wake and start our day, give pause and give thanks to what we are grateful for.

-Think about what we have planned for the day.

-Expect….set our intentions…to proceed into the rest of the day and night in the grace of sunlight. Proceed with HOPE, light, love in our heart.

-Pause and reflect again on what we are grateful for at the end of the day.

-repeat tomorrow and each day.

Notice that we are reflecting on gratitude. Notice that we have plans but they leave room for more. They are open for more of what we are grateful for. They are open for our highest good because we have set the intention to walk on the sunny side of the street.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Direct our feet to the sunny side of the street.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful sunny day.

-Catching up with Jul, Vicki, and Alex.

-Good neighbors.

-Water aerobics…these old bones sure like this form of exercise.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
