“One of the greatest gifts you can give someone is your undivided attention.”….Oprah Winfrey

For your consideration…

The song, “Love the One You’re With” brought in today’s message. Once again, I laugh because the lyrics are not what the message is about.

Our message reminds us to focus on the people right in front of us…the people we are sharing the moment with. This just seems obvious but how often do we answer a phone while we are having a conversation with someone else? How often do we “tune people out’? How often do we not look at the people delivering service to us?

We have had messages like this before but today has an urgency. I think it is because we have been cooped up for so long. HOPEfully sometime we will look back and feel the blessing we have all been given…extended time with those we love. Or perhaps we realize the value of time we have lost with those we love. Whatever the case, we are reminded that our focus, our attention, is a gift…a gift the costs nothing…that can give immeasurable comfort and joy to others.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors or take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Focus on those sharing our moment.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Catching up with Jackie and Alex.

-Bingo.

-So excited about the puppy we will be getting.

-A good book.

-A trip to the post office…yikes…I am so appreciative of ours at home.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
