For your consideration…

This message just makes me laugh. It seems obvious. “Do as I say and not as I do. We have heard that many many times throughout our lives. We often make fun of the hypocrisy of politicians who make laws they don’t follow themselves, creating health care they do not have to participate in etc. Of course, politicians are probably the best example of hypocrisy but certainly, we see it often in our daily life.

So the message seems obvious. But that is what makes me laugh. It is not what we think. You know that word we hear a lot…BALANCE. Yup, we have it again today.

We are all hypocrites at times. But again, it goes back to balance and intention. Do we intentionally break our own rules over and over again? Or are we students saying the right things and then breaking them, falling down but learning and growing? We learn and grow until we are indeed living by our word, living what we know to be true, living our best intentions.

Let’s go back to the politician example. They make laws that they have no intention of following. They are not just saying one thing and doing another. They have no intention of following them. That is far different than say a Spiritual Worker, a good friend, a doctor etc. who has the best of intentions. They want to and plan to follow what they preach but may not always be successful.

Holding that thought, we are asked this for today’s message. “If we can not always follow what we say, should we say nothing at all?” Think about all of the wisdom we would miss if only perfect people were allowed to bestow it.  Thinking, saying, writing the right thing is the first step in manifesting and doing it.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Hold the good thoughts, the right things, with the best of intentions.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A good water aerobics class. I love the instructor and the women in it.

-OK, I found a puppy…finally. HOPEfully, I will be able to pick it up in the 1st or 2nd week in April. Perfect timing.

-A good book.

-Catching up with Alex, James, and Cathy.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
