Soul Nourishment
For your consideration…..
The seasons are rapidly changing. As we get ready to settle in for the winter, we are reminded to remember ourselves. Specifically we are reminded to do a little self-assessment on our life at the soul level.
How? It is simple. Are we “completely” happy and fulfilled? If the answer is yes, great. You must be working your true life purpose and doing it well. Continue doing what you know so well.
If the answer is between “no” and “completely”, this is a great time to “nourish your soul.”
How?
1. Meditate. Even if it is for just a few minutes each day. Even if you don’t think you do it well. There is just no better way to get back in touch with our soul and to hear millions of messages delivered to us each day.
2. Prayer. We have help 24/7 available to us from God and his legions of Angels, Guides etc. No prayer goes unheard. Indeed we each have access to the Divine Guidance every moment of every day and night.
3. Create space for growth. What isn’t working in your life? Maybe it did once, or not. No matter, if it no longer serves you, let it go. Empty clear clean space is a whole lot lighter and healthier than garbage.
4. Look at those things that you are grateful for. Seek more of them. They are your gifts.
5. Love what you love with wild abandon…..others and yourself.
6. Laugh often….inside, out loud, hysterically. As my daughter, Alex, wrote this week on Facebook,”Laughter is the only free emotion.”
7. Eat well and exercise. I know many of us struggle with this, myself included. But it is never too late to start.
8. Drink lots of water. It sustains us. It cleanses us. It brings us clarity.
9. Study. Read. Step out of the box. What does your soul desire? What rings true? Try new things i.e.; activities, music, books, exercise, theater, new trails, new travels, new volunteer opportunities, new recipes (healthy, HOPEfully), work, etc. Just open your horizons up, expand your scope.
10. Dance and sing. Again with wild abandon.
11. Get out into nature. Notice the magnificence of all that is offered to and for us.
12. Breath. Get those 10 deep breaths outdoors each day. Notice them. Notice how you feel afterwards. Notice how it feels to be calm.
We are on a journey. Our soul does not age with our body. It is always ready to grow and expand into its full potential. But we need to remember it needs nourishment. That is the HOPE.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can take…..
-Meditate.
-Drink as much water as you can.
-Have fun. Try something new. Be silly. Laugh.
-Take in those 10 deep breaths outdoors. It is pretty blustery here today. Those are going to be some pretty powerful breaths!
What made me smile yesterday….
-I taught students learning English. They are amazing. How do they do it? How do you go to school and only understand a portion of what is being taught and still excel?
-A great trip to see Aunt Dorothy. She was better than we have seen her in a while. That means she knew who we were and was glad to see us. You just can’t beat that.
-Ginger and I had a great dinner on Bruce. Thanks, Honey, dinner always tastes better when it is graciously and lovingly provided on someone else’s dime.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Chris
