For your consideration…

As children we probably all had occasion to see our parent’s frustration when we kept asking “why”. Certainly, those who became parents understood this frustration as we experienced the constant questioning of “why.”

Our message today wants us to think about the power of why. When we ask the question why, we are seeking information, knowledge. We are learning and growing. This is good. As children we have no filters, the whys fly fast and furious out of our mouths. We don’t even think about holding them back. But as adults, we do. We think and decide on what reaction we might get if we do. Will we annoy? Will we appear immature or dumb? Etc.

Why is always a good question and appropriate whether we voice it or not. Indeed, asking ourselves why is necessary for our growth. We should always be thinking and wondering why. Why has this person or experience been put in my path? Of course, there is more to it than that. We need to be asking why without judgment or presumption. When something we perceive as negative happens to us, we bring judgment and taint the answer to the why. We are reminded to always ask the question of why with a free and open heart that expects…knows…the answer is always for our highest good.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Ask why constantly.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Lots of sun.

-Watching movies with Shannon and Bruce.

-Exploring with Shannon.

-Sitting outside for most of the afternoon. The wind was chilly but the sun very warm.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
