For your consideration…

Is there anyone out there that does not want peace….peace in the world, peace in the United States, peace in our home, peace in our soul, peace of mind?

How many times do we hear, “I am so over this.” “I am sick of this.” Or how many people including friends and relatives do we hear speak angrily about what is going on in the world or their home life? I can not tell you how disappointed it makes me when I spiritual people wade into the negative energy and then pass it along. Believe me, I know it is hard not to spread our opinions across social media. We vent there and so like in no other times anger and hate spreads like wild fires.

We have a choice. We always have a choice. We can choose to be part of the solution or part of the problem. It does not matter whether we are right or wrong. If we spread anger and hate we are part of the problem. If we spread love, HOPE, and peace, we are part of the solution.

How do we find peace, love, and HOPE within ourselves to do this? You are sick of hearing this but it is through consistent meditation, mindfulness, and/or prayer.

I know. I hear it all of the time. I can not meditate. Yes, you can. You have to be dedicated to consistently try…try without judgment or expectations. It is the same with prayer. The key is to trust the loving information we are given and follow it…even if it is not what we want to hear. Mindfulness is the same. We need to suspend judgment and consistently practice it.

Prayer, meditation, and mindfulness are different but they have something in common….they teach us to notice and control our out of control minds and egos. It is the mind and ego that creates the anxiety and fear that creates anger and hate. It becomes a vicious cycle. anger and hate create more anxiety and fear. Likewise, when we spread it out into the Universe, the cycle escalates.

If we want peace, it has to begin with us. We can only achieve real peace when we achieve a peaceful spirit. Isn’t this what we want to release out into the world? Isn’t this what we want people to see and feel when they are around us?

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.” I am love.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Commit to sitting quietly each and every day to meditate, pray, and/or practice mindfulness. Try to do it at the same time each day. This is so worth the effort. When we learn to control the mind and ego and go within, it becomes automatic in stressful, frightening situations to go within to our peaceful, loving self. Our authentice self that is connected to our Source.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Catching up with both my girls.

-Some trip prep done.

-Toes and nails done.

-Baking done.

-A new houseguest…fun.

-A visit with Mary and Nick.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
