For your consideration…

We were not born with patience. In fact, it is quite the opposite. As babies, we learned to act out in “impatience” to get what we want.

As we grow, we learn patience. This is an easier process for some versus others. I must say, I am part of the “others.” And while, I have come miles, it is clear that I still have some distance to go as my daughter can attest with my meltdown Christmas Eve when the dinner I had planned for over a week was ruined when their quick trip to Mary’s turned into over an hour and the dinner was completely overcooked and ruined. Yes, I have a ways to go.

I would argue that patience is a virtue because it is so hard to learn and practice. But at some level, we understand its value so work hard to master it.

Why is patience so important? Patience forces us to slow down and notice the journey. It forces us to go through the steps to learn our life lessons, grow and acquire knowledge and wisdom. Patience expands our experiences and allows us to notice and “feel” them.

Today we are reminded when we practice patience we are a positive example to others as well as ourselves. It is a gift to ourselves as well as others.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Practice patience. Work on patience.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A chill day at home.

-Laundry done.

-Starting to put the Christmas decorations away. No worries. No hurry.

-Catching up with Cathy.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
