For your consideration…

No doubt, this year has been challenging…not at all what we expected as we set out goals last New Year. We have found out new things about ourselves, life, and others. We have seen grace under challenge and some not so much. Perhaps, we have found that it was easier to be positive at the beginning but we are struggling more now as the pandemic drags on..and on…and on.

Yesterday I talked with my friend Kathy. During the conversation she mentioned that she starts each day listing what she is grateful for, one of them being waking up with her husband next to her. Part of our message today is following Kathy’s example of starting our day with gratitude.

Gratitude sets us up for success. It also sets us up for the main part of today’s message. As the pandemic drags on, perhaps it is hard somedays to be positive…be excited. Things…events…that we were excited about were limited or canceled. Sometimes that loss(s) starts to weigh us down.

Today we are reminded to start with gratitude and build. Create something that we can be excited for…something we can look forward to. It doesn’t have to be huge. It doesn’t even have to be complete. The steps in planning it can be exciting. We are reminded of our own power. We have the power to create, build, and execute.

Tha tis the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Create…excitement.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A little road trip to pick up some ink pads I saw on Facebook Marketplace.

-And it was a short drive to my daughter’s where I dropped off Mrs. Pringle’s apples and picked up the roaster. I am set to create Thanksgiving dinner.

-Catching up with Kathy, Mary, and Shannon.

-Some crafting.

-I finished a book series.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
