For your consideration…..

Today we are asked to take a step back and put our life in perspective so to speak. We are being told that we are students. Today is just another school day. And when we pass we are but moving on to the next grade level. (HOPEfully, no one wants to have to repeat a grade….even if it is for our own good.)

Just like in school. There is something to learn every moment, if we choose. Maybe it is lesson content. Maybe it is how to listen.  Maybe it is how to get along with others. Maybe it is critical thinking. Maybe it is problem solving. Maybe is it studying the past to learn for how to make better decisions for the future. Maybe it is how to make choices. Maybe it is choices. Maybe it is sharing. Maybe it is understanding and loving your fellow students even if they are not your best friend. May it is collaboration. Maybe it is learning to work together. Maybe is it learning to work independently. Maybe it is respect. Maybe it is learning to say no. Maybe it is learning to say yes. Maybe it is learning to test and experiment. Maybe it is learning to express our creativity etc…….

You get the point. The lessons are hard and soft. They are constant. How fully we participate is up to us. How much we get out of it is up to us.

But remember there is a teacher and lots of helpers. We are invited to raise our hands (and hearts) if we have questions. That is the HOPE.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate. There is no better way to get help with your homework.

-Drink lots of water. School is hard work and you need clarity.

-Get outdoors as often as you can. Take in some deep breaths, at least 10. (Sis, you do 30 spaced throughout the day)

-Play. Outdoor recess is just the best.

What made me smile…..

-I am at a woman’s retreat. I come here once or twice a year. We always meet at a stark but beautiful retreat owned by monks. The coming together of women to share, heal and learn is always wonderful with many many laughs.

-The young woman who are here who have learned early to take time to invest in themselves.

-My friend battling cancer, who despite everything worked up enough energy to be here.

-My friend, Eden, here for her grandfather’s funeral, extended her stay when she learned the retreat was this weekend.

-Daisy, Pat’s dog who is so delighted to be with all of us women.

-We are sharing the retreat with a group of breast cancer survivors. Their laughter brought smiles to our hearts.

-Visits from my Mom, Dad, Bernie, Archangel Metetron and my beloved White Eagle.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
