For your consideration…..

Every conversation I have had in the last two days has at some point become centered around negative energy. While we have talked a lot about energy in this blog, clearly this consideration needs to stand on its own.

Energy is positive or it is negative. It is not neutral. Throughout the day we  interact with our surrounding and the people in it and their energies. That is life.

We know that when we are working in positive energy we are most successful. When we are working in negative energy, we are working against the natural flow of life and order, and life is much harder.

So it is important to guard our energy for the good of ourselves and others. We have talked a lot about using positive affirmations, EFT, exercise, water etc. to turn our own energy around.

But there is something else we need to be on guard for. When you have an interaction with someone who is negative, “don’t get sucked in.” You can listen but then just dismiss it. You see, the moment we put our “own” judgement on it, we have attached our energy to it. I learned this from Rev. Nina Roe and it was a game changer for me.

The moment we engage and participate in gossip, we become a participant. The minute we  start listing all of the ways someone has ticked us off, we become a participant. The minute we become irate in a traffic jam, we become a participant. Don’t get me wrong. We can notice. But that is the decision point. The minute we attach judgement to it, we have been sucked in and now we also own that energy. We don’t want that. We don’t need someone else’s baggage. So it is much better to dismiss it.

This is not to say the traffic jam won’t cause complications or that our co-worker isn’t a jerk. We may very well be right. But we do not have to engage in the condition or behavior. We can choose notice, rise above it and  repel it from our own energy and stay on our own course. That is the HOPE.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can take….

-Mediatate. If need be set up a positive affirmation to use as a mantra going into meditation.

-Drink lots of water. Yesterday in school in social studies we talked about how blessed we are to have good water.

-Share your smiles. Be the game changer.

-Get outdoors and get in those 10 deep breaths.

-Journal about anything that pops into your head. Don’t worry if it makes sense or not or even punctuation and grammar. Just get the thoughts down.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-I am working with great 6th graders this week. I just love middle schoolers.

-I had a great consultation on my human design. It was fascinating and for me it was a great affirmation.

-I got to catch up with both daughters, both amazing women.

-The Tigers won.

-My friend, Christine, is back from her retreat and it was way more than she expected it to be. She sounds amazing.

-A very old friend from high school, phoned. We rarely talk and it was great to hear from Susan.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
