For your consideration…

With marketing and media many people, maybe even most people, tend to go with the latest and greatest. And in the process, we often “throw the baby out with the bathwater.”  We take the new in its entirety. Most often not all of it is better and most often it has its own flaws somewhere which lay the groundwork for us to grab the new latest and greatest.

I remember living in Poland and my daughter got an earache. Marge, a woman who worked for me, told me to put rice in a sock, heat it up, and have Alex lay her ear on it. Sure enough, the problem was solved. When we study Native American culture, we find that the “Medicine Man” truly had many cures provided by Mother Earth. In the United Stated homeopathic Medicine, herbs etc., have made a comeback in the last couple of decades. Living in Poland, we discovered they had never been discarded.

HOPEfully this quarantine has forced us to look at what we have and use it, reuse it, find new uses for it. Perhaps we have reset our priorities.

Today’s message goes on to ask us to go back to the very basics. Go to the core of our soul. Go to what we know to be true and live that truth. Be the light of that truth. Be the example of that truth. That truth was never a fad. It did not need to be embellished. It did not need to be changed or replaced. It is the very seed of perfection.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths while you are working, playing, or relaxing.

-Live the old basic truth of your soul. It will never lead you astray.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Another picture-perfect day.

-Mary and Don came for dinner.

-We surprised Alex with a video call.

-Cookie dough made for Mac’s grad party.

-A good book…at least I HOPE it gets good.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
