1983: Students Release Balloons with Messages • Jennifer Chronicles

For your consideration…

I love, love, love today’s message. I love it because it came via a memory. My Mother was absolutely adamant that she did not want a funeral. We honored her wishes…sort of. My brother, sisters and I waited a month or so and then held a party, specifically a euchre tournament. Mom, her friends, and family are all big card players. We had all of her favorite foods, held the tournament, and then released balloons with messages that we had written on.

So I understood today’s message perfectly. I remember how it felt.

Today’s message reminds us that when we miss our loved ones, feel their energy, or are missing it, we can always connect. And sometimes it helps if we actually physically do something. In today’s case, we are given a suggestion to do as we did for my Mom and write on the balloon and send it off. Or we can do as the people in the picture did and attach a handwritten note and send it off. No matter what we choose, today’s task is fun. If we can not get out to get balloons we can write a note and burn it letting the smoke carry our message up.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Write those messages and send them off to heaven.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Laundry done.

-A good book.

-Catching up Yvonne and ordering my graduation supplies.

-Our Friday night Zoom PJ Party.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
